Ganthor's history goes back to 2010 when Daniel Ganton and Fredrik Thorgren together with two former partners founded their first capital management company. In 2017, Daniel and Fredrik chose to move forward with a new company structure. In the same year, Ganthor AB was formed, which today has offices in Malmö, Kalmar and Västerås. In 2023, Joakim Lerud joins the company as a partner.

Ganthor's operations are conducted through two companies Ganthor AB & Ganthor Ekonomi AB. The companies are in turn controlled by a holding company GLT Holding AB, which has no business of its own, but whose sole task is to own shares in subsidiaries. GLT Holding AB also has ownership in Novu Holding AB, Unika Försäkringar i Sverige AB, Sekretesso AB, Leasio Finans AB and AddEqt AB.
